Below you will find the answers to some of your most frequently asked questions. As always, you are welcome to give the school a call at 508-822-3746 with any additional questions you may have.

  • What grades do you offer?

    We are a Pre-K through grade 8 Catholic elementary school. Our Pre-K program is for children ages 3 and 4 years old.

  • What are the school hours?

    The school day for all grades is 9am to 3pm. Drop-off can begin at 8:30am.

    Our Extended Day Program:
    Our before school care begins at 7am and the after school program ends at 5:30pm.

  • Is child care offered before and after the school day? What are the hours and cost?

    Yes. Our Before School Program begins at 7:00 AM and the After School Program runs from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM. The cost for the extended day is $2 per half hour.

  • How much is tuition?

    Our tuition rates are posted on our tuition page and updated annually.

  • Do you offer financial aid? If so what is the process to apply?

    Sister Margretta Sol Scholarship

    This scholarship is awarded each school year on a “need basis”. This is open to OLOL students only. Applicants can apply directly with Sr. Margretta Sol at the school.

    Foundation to Advance Catholic Education (FACE)

    These scholarships are distributed on a “needs basis” to ensure that any child desiring to attend one of the Catholic schools in the Diocese of Fall River will have that opportunity. A formal application procedure is required of all who wish to apply for aid. Tuition Aid amounts range from $300 to $2000 per academic year. There is a $40 application fee per family.

    Knights of Columbus Monsignor James Coyle Scholarship

    This is a new scholarship that is awarded to one student per year. The student must be currently enrolled in the school and exhibit exceptional character, especially in the areas of faith and service. Faculty will nominate and vote for the student in the spring. The recipient will receive a $200.00 scholarship deducted from the current year’s tuition.

    Parish Assistance

    Your parish may offer tuition assistance of up to $300 per academic year. Please inquire with your parish’s administration office for more details.
    All scholarships and financial aid require a formal application. To inquire, please contact our Principal, Mary Turner at 508-822-3746. We are committed to doing the utmost to make our school accessible to all children who wish to attend.

  • What are the criteria for acceptance? When are applications due?

    OLOL offers open enrollment throughout the year but we encourage early registration due to limited space and availability.

    The criteria for acceptance are as follows:

    1. Copy of Birth Certificate
    2. Copy of Baptismal Certificate (if available)
    3. Completed Registration Form
    4. $125 Deposit
    5. Transcripts for students transferring into Grades 1-8. We will need a release of information form.
    6. Immigration form if born outside the country
    7. Signed Permission for use of child’s photo
    8. Signed Computer Acceptable Use Policy
  • What is the student: teacher ratio?

  • How is religion incorporated? Do you accept non-Catholics?

    We welcome children from all faith backgrounds who wish to be taught in a caring and nurturing environment that views every child as a gift from God. The entire student body begins each day with a Morning Prayer assembly. Religion is taught in the classrooms based on the diocesan outcomes. Eucharistic Adoration is attended by the older grades once per month. A weekly liturgy and observance of Holy Days of Obligation are attended by the entire student body.

    Reconciliation is offered to students during Advent and Lent. Stations of the Cross are held in the school gym every Friday during Lent.

  • What special classes do you have?

    We provide Technology, Music, Art, Physical Education and library. Grades 6-8 get conversational Spanish.

  • Do you provide special education?

    Yes! We have an amazing Certified Special Education teacher who supports students with learning differences.  Learn more HERE.

  • What type of technology do you have?

    We believe that students need to feel comfortable with using technology to improve their learning experience.  Every classroom has an interactive smartboard, and all students have access to Chromebooks.  The new STEM lab will feature 3-D printers.

  • What extracurricular activities do you offer?

    We are re-evaluating our extracurricular offerings and we welcome you to contact us directly to learn more.

  • Is there a PTO or a Parents’ Guild?

    Yes, we have an OLOL Parents’ Guild. The Guild meets monthly and it is an open forum.  The Guild gives us an opportunity to educate parents on the “behind the scene” items that are dealt with when trying to plan events for our students and their families as well as reviewing any updates from our Principal and/or Development Committee. The Guild sponsors after school events as well as in school Enrichment projects such as a Back-to-School Hoe Down, Halloween Party, Sweetheart Dance and Magic and Science Shows.

  • Is there a school nurse?

    Yes, we have a full time nurse, 5 days a week, 9AM – 3PM

  • Do your students wear a uniform? Where can they buy one?

    Yes. The uniforms are offered through Donnelly’s or we sell gently used uniforms at the school.

  • What is the Drop-off and Pick-up Process?

    Parents may park across the street as a ‘drop off only’ line is available in front of the school with staff available to monitor/supervise the children.

  • How does Bus Transportation work?

    Bus transportation for Taunton residents will continue to be available.

    Once we have the names and addresses of the children requiring bus transportation, this information will be sent to the bus company.
