Parent's Guild

The purpose of the Parents Guild is to strengthen and enhance the educational and social environment of Our Lady of Lourdes School.  We encourage communication between our parents, teachers, the Principal, and the Development Committee.  We work to provide our School community with the opportunities to socialize, learn, communicate, and grow. 

Every parent or guardian of an Our Lady of Lourdes Student is a member of the Guild. The officers are elected to their position and represent the membership.  Our meetings are generally held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month during the school year.  We meet at 7 P.M. in the Cafeteria and we encourage everyone to attend!

Our meetings provide a forum to communicate with other parents as well as the Principal and the Development Committee.  The Guild is place to go to know what’s happening!

At our meetings, we also  organize committees to plan the various social events which we sponsor throughout the school year.   The Guild sponsors a Halloween Party, The Christmas Parade Float, which represents our school in Taunton’s Annual Christmas Parade, The Christmas Movie Night, Easter Eggstravaganza, and an End of the Year Event.  We also host guest speakers.  In the past the lecture topics have included Internet Safety, Anti-Bullying, Financial Planning, Staying Afloat During a Recession, and Successful Study Habits.  

Your attendance at our events and your donations allow us to purchase supplies which enhance our children’s  learning experience.  Already this year we were able to purchase recess equipment, a digital camera for teachers’ in-school use, and gift cards for teachers to purchase classroom supplies!  Plans are in the works for some exciting activities.  The Parents Guild will be hosting a Sweetheart Dance  in February – watch for details!  We are also planning an Earth Day Clean-up, butterfly hatch & release event, and an Exciting End of the Year Family Fun Day!!
